I do not believe there is a way to “add friends” other than linking them like a website (IE A link page or a blogroll). It is meant to allow the creator full control, unlike LJ. I have no .wordpress at the end of my address because I am not being hosted by wordpress. I am running the word press program from my website. I installed to my server. I am tired of LJ & it’s moderation of people’s content. I hope that answers the question. So, ok….WordPress is not like LiveJournal.
